Two drawings selected for Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2023

Absolutely delighted to find out two of my drawings ‘Myddelton Square Gardens’ and ‘Recurrence’ have been accepted for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2023!

The 'Only Connect' theme chosen for the show by this year's exhibition co-ordinator David Remfry RA feels incredibly relevant to my work. It's at the heart of my observation process when drawing, each mark being a tangible connection with an event noticed as I inhabited a particular place.

‘Myddelton Square Gardens' (below) carries an added connection of friendship as it was drawn alongside Timothy Hyman RA. I've had the privilege and pleasure of spending some wonderful mornings drawing and exploring city spaces with Tim over the years, and I'm indebted to the huge amounts I've learnt from him.

The exhibition is open from 13th June - 20th August 2023, I hope you will look out for my drawings if you visit the show, further information here .
