Watch Graham Crowley’s insightful response to my drawing ‘Sleeping Tree’

Silent Disco ‘24 Walk and Talk with Graham Crowley Filmed by Bill Jackson. Clip courtesy of Graham Crowley and Bill Jackson.

When speaking about the drawing Sleeping Tree from my Laycock Green series, Graham Crowley, former Professor of Painting at the Royal College of Art and winner of the prestigious John Moores Painting Prize 2023, described it as, "absolutely exquisite ... at every point you think you've just about taken in what's going on and [then] there's something else." Hear more of Graham’s thoughtful observations about my drawing in the film clip above.

After exhibiting Sleeping Tree in Silent Disco ‘24 curated by Graham Crowley and Winter on Laycock Green in Drawn Together curated by David Remfry RA  at Paul Smith Space, several people were interested to see further drawings from the Laycock Green series. So, I’m taking the opportunity to show a larger group of these drawings at Art Hub's Open Studios on Saturday 6th June 2026, 11am - 5pm, Building 77, Bowater Road, London, SE18 5TF. All welcome, I hope you will join us! Find out more about the open studios exhibition here.

Huge thanks to Graham Crowley and Bill Jackson for their generous permission to use a clip from the film Silent Disco ‘24 Walk and Talk with Graham Crowley. It was a fantastic group show, see the full film of the exhibition here.  Find out more about Graham Crowley’s paintings at www.grahamcrowley.co.uk and Bill Jackson’s film and photography at www.billjackson.photography
